Two in-state basketball programs—the Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks—meet in a regular-season NCAA men's game at the Moda Center in downtown Portland. The showdown embodies a longstanding Oregon rivalry and typically draws a large local crowd in this premier multi-purpose arena. The Moda Center, opened in 1995 as the Rose Garden, hosts major basketball and other events and serves as a central sports venue in Portland.
